Ithaca vs RIT, 2004

The Ithaca College softball team split its series with the Rochester Institute of Technology, winning game one by a score of 2-0, but falling 1-0 in game two. The Bombers are now 17-11 on the season.

Game 1 | Ithaca 2, RIT 0

Both runs came in the bottom of the fourth, with junior Maddie Kraemer having the sole RBI in the game with her seventh double of the season. All it took was those two runs to secure the victory for the Bombers.

Freshman Zahida Sherman had a great day from the mound, as she pitched her 10th complete game and her fifth shutout of the season. She only allowed one hit throughout the contest and has now not given up a run in her last 21 innings.

Game 2 | RIT 1, Ithaca 0

It took more than a standard game to determine the winner of this contest, as the Tigers scored their lone run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Freshman Lindsay Galli tied her season-high record as she recorded three hits throughout the game. The Bombers had four hits during the game.

With the loss, Sherman is 9-5. She pitched 3.1 innings and recorded three strikeouts.

The Bombers return to action with a conference doubleheader against Hartwick College at 4:30 p.m. April 21 in Oneonta, NY.
