The Ithaca College softball team won a tough extra-innings game against SUNY Oneonta, winning the contest 2-1 in eight innings. With the win, the Bombers will play SUNY Cortland in the championship game this afternoon.

The Red Dragons struck first in the bottom of the third inning to take a 1-0 lead, but the Bombers scored in the top of the fourth to tie the game. In the top of the eighth inning, IC scored to take the lead, but Oneonta could not score in the bottom of the eighth.Â

Sophomore Katilyn Dulac went 1-for-4 with one RBI, while senior Sara Durant went 1-for-3 with the only other RBI in the game. Freshman Zahida Sherman pitched all eight innings. She only allowed five hits and struck out two.Â

Ithaca advances to the championship round to face Cortland at noon May 9 at Kostrinsky Field. The Bombers need two wins against the Red Dragons to win the regional title while Cortland only needs one win.Â
