Ithaca vs Elmira, 2004

The Ithaca College softball team put on an offensive show in its doubleheader against Elmira College, with an 18-0 victory in game one and a 10-0 victory in game two, making the Bombers undefeated within the Empire 8.
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 18, Elmira 0

Ithaca scored five runs throughout the first three innings, but then tallied 13 runs over the next two innings to clinch the victory in just five innings. The Bombers were perfect defensively with 0 errors, while Elmira had four errors throughout the contest. The top hitters for Ithaca were Bonkowski, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and senior Sara Durant, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.
 
Freshman Zahida Sherman picked up her second win of the season, as she pitched a two-hitter and had no earned runs. 
 
Game 2| Ithaca 10, Elmira 0

The Bombers continued their excellent hitting with another shutout against Elmira. Winning this game in five innings as well, Ithaca got started early by scoring three runs in the bottom of the first and adding four more in the bottom of the second. The Bombers scored three more runs over the next two runs as Elmira was not able to put themselves on the board for the second game in a row. 
 
Senior Sara Durant was the leading hitter for Ithaca, as she went 1-for-2 on the day with three RBI. Junior Abbey Pelot had a season-high seven strikeouts as she pitched her first shutout of the season, which makes her overall record 2-3. With their overall record now 4-6, the Bombers will play their home opener against the University of Rochester in a doubleheader March 28 at Kostrinsky Field.
