Ithaca vs Penn State, 1982

The Ithaca College softball team lost both of its games against Penn State University, losing the first game 8-1 and the second game 5-4. With both losses, the Bombers are now 12-8 on the season.
 
Game 1 | Penn State 8, Ithaca 1
 
The Nittany Lions scored an impressive six runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early lead. Penn State added one run in the bottom of the second and Ithaca scored its lone run of the contest in the top of the fourth inning. Penn State tacked on one final run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
 
Sophomore Anne Sammis led the Bombers with two hits as she went 2-for-3.
 
Senior Vicki Scott had one strikeout and gave up 11 hits in the loss.
 
Game 2 | Penn State 5, Ithaca 4
 
The Bombers took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning by scoring two runs. Both teams scored two runs in the fifth inning, giving Ithaca the 4-2 lead.
 
In the top of the seventh inning, the Nittany Lions rallied and scored three runs to win the game 5-4.
 
Junior Nancy Kleinsmith went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Senior Lisa Stellato went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
 
Sophomore Jo Burruby gave up nine hits in the loss.
