Penn State
The Ithaca College softball team swept both games of its doubleheader against Penn State, winning the first game 3-1 and the second game 7-5.

The Nittany Lions scored one run in the first inning to take an early lead. Ithaca tied the contest in the top of the fourth inning and then scored two runs in the fifth inning to take the 3-1 lead.

Lori Mike went 2-for-3 with one RBI and Sue Schneider went 1-for-1 with one run scored. Debbie Tefft and Dee Dee Mayes both had one RBI.

M.E. Alger pitched a four-hitter through seven innings pitched.

Game 2 | Ithaca 7, Penn State 5

The Bombers scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but Penn State cut the lead to 3-2 with two runs scored in the bottom of the first inning. The Nittany Lions took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the second inning, but Ithaca retook the lead as they added four runs in the top of the third inning. Penn State's last run was scored in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Sue France had a great game at the plate as she went 4-for-4 with two RBI and Lisa Alhers went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Schneider went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored.

Andi Woodbury gave up 11 hits in the win.
