Ithaca vs Oneonta, 1976

The Ithaca College softball team swept both games of its doubleheader against SUNY Oneonta, winning the first game 14-1 and the second game 2-1.

Ithaca scored four runs in each of the first and second innings to take an 8-0 lead. The Bombers added one run in the fourth inning before Oneonta scored its lone run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning.
 
The Bombers tacked on four runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth inning to win the game 14-1.
 
M.E. Alger led the Bombers with seven RBI as she went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Sue Schneider went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Dee Dee Mayes went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Lori Mike and Sue Dagget both went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored.
 
Alger pitched a one-hitter through seven innings pitched.

Oneonta struck first with one run scored in the bottom of the first inning, but Ithaca tied the game with one run in the top of the third inning. The Bombers took the lead by adding one run in the top of the sixth inning.
 
Mike recorded the lone RBI for the Bombers as she went 1-for-1 with one RBI. Debbie Walton went 1-for-2 with one run scored.
 
Andi Woodbury only allowed two hits and recorded three strikeouts in the win.
