Ithaca vs Cortland, 1976

The Ithaca College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against SUNY Cortland, losing the first game 9-0 and the second game 4-2.
 
Game 1 | Cortland 9, Ithaca 0
 
The Red Dragons scored two runs in the first inning and added five runs in the second inning to extend their lead to 7-0. Cortland added one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings to make the score 9-0.
 
Sue Schneider and Debbie Tefft both went 1-for-3 in the game.
 
M.E. Alger gave up 11 hits and recorded two strikeouts in the loss.
 
Game 2 | Cortland 4, Ithaca 2
 
Cortland scored one run in the bottom of the first inning and Ithaca tied the contest with one run in the top of the fourth inning. The Red Dragons retook the lead with one run in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to make the score 3-1. Both teams scored one run in the seventh inning to give Cortland the 4-2 lead.
 
Schneider went 2-for-3 with one RBI and Sue France had one RBI as well. Lisa Alhers and Dee Dee Mayes both went 2-for-3 with one run scored.
 
Andi Woodbury had one strikeout and gave up 11 hits in the loss.
