Ithaca vs Scranton, 1985

The Ithaca College softball team swept both of its games against the University of Scranton, winning the first game 7-2 and the second game 3-2.
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 7, Scranton 2
 
The Bombers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the third inning and the Lady Royals cut the lead to 3-1 with one run scored in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ithaca scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning and Scranton added one run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 5-2. The Bombers' final two came in the top of the seventh inning.
 
Sophomore Carol Buckheit led the team with four RBI as she went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Freshman Gretchen Lynch went 1-for-1 with one RBI and sophomore Darlene Unger went 1-for-4 with one run scored.
 
Freshman Maria Kramer went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and senior Barb Wachowiak had two hits as she went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
 
Sophomore Kathy Volpi pitched a four-hitter and recorded three strikeouts in the win.
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 3, Scranton 2
 
Tied at 2-2, the Bombers scored the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning to secure the 3-2 win.
 
Ithaca scored one run in the first inning to take an early lead. Scranton tied the game with one run scored in the bottom of the fourth inning and took the lead with one run in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Bombers tied the game with one run scored in the top of the seventh inning.
 
Sophomore Mildred Piscopo led the Bombers with two hits as she went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Kramer went 1-for-4 with one run scored and junior Patti Seebach went 1-for-4.
 
Junior Cathy Blake struck out three batters and gave up six hits in the win.
