Ithaca vs Brockport, 1985

The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against The College at Brockport, losing the first game 4-0 but winning the second game in commanding fashion by a score of 23-2.

The Golden Eagles struck first with one run in the bottom of the third inning and added two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 3-0. Brockport's final run came in the bottom of the sixth inning.
 
Senior Barb Wachowiak led the Bombers with two hits as she went 2-for-4 and freshman Maria Kramer went 1-for-3.
 
Junior Cathy Blake gave up nine hits and recorded two strikeouts.
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 23, Brockport 2
 
The Bombers scored six runs in the first inning, but Brockport responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to make the score 6-2. Ithaca added eight runs in the top of the second inning and six runs in the top of the fourth inning to give the squad a 20-2 lead. The Bombers' final three runs came in the top of the sixth inning.
 
Sophomore Darlene Unger led the team with three RBI as she went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Wachowiak went 3-for-4 with two RBI and junior Diane Para went 4-for-5 with two RBI.
 
Sophomore Mildred Piscopo went 3-for-6 with one RBI and sophomore Carol Buckheit went 3-for-5 with two RBI.
 
Sophomore Kathy Volpi pitched a three-hitter and recorded three strikeouts in the win.
