The Ithaca College softball team lost both of its games against The College of New Jersey, losing the first game 6-1 and the second game 5-1.

TCNJ scored one run in the bottom of the second inning to take the first lead of the game, but the Bombers tied the contest with one run in the top of the third inning.

The Lions retook the lead by scoring three runs in the bottom of the third inning and extended their lead to 5-1 with one run in the bottom of the fourth inning. TCNJ's final run was scored in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Freshman Vicky Rizzolo went 1-for-2 with one RBI and sophomore Gretchen Lynch went 1-for-2 with one run scored. Sophomore Maria Kramer and junior Mildred Piscopo both went 1-for-3.

Junior Kathy Volpi gave up 11 hits in the loss.

The Lions scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an early lead and extended their lead by adding one run in the bottom of the fifth inning. TCNJ's final two runs came in the bottom of the sixth inning and Ithaca's lone run of the game came in the top of the seventh inning.

Kramer had the team's lone RBI as she went 3-for-4. Sophomore Wendy Jo Haft went 1-for-3 with one run scored and junior Carol Buckheit went 1-for-3.

Freshman Julie Wilcox had one strikeout and gave up eight hits in the loss.
