Ithaca vs Buffalo State, 1986

The Ithaca College softball team swept both of its games against Buffalo State, winning the first game 7-1 and the second game 8-0 to improve the Bombers' record to 17-11 on the season.

The Bombers scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and added one run in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 3-0. Buffalo State scored its lone run of the game in the top of the fifth inning, but Ithaca responded with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend its lead to 7-1.
 
Sophomores Maria Kramer and Wendy Jo Haft both went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Junior Patti Sheedy led the team with five RBI as she went 4-for-4 with two runs scored.
 
Junior Kathy Volpi only allowed six hits and recorded two strikeouts in the win.
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 8, Buffalo State 0
 
Ithaca jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and added two runs in the bottom of the second inning to extend its lead to 6-0. The Bombers tacked on one run in the fourth and fifth innings to make the score 8-0.
 
Haft went 2-for-4 with two RBI and junior Mildred Piscopo went 3-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored. Sheedy and Darlene Unger both went 2-for-4.
 
Freshman Julie Wilcox pitched a five-hitter and struck out three batters in the win.
