Ithaca vs Brockport, 1986

The Ithaca College softball team swept both games of its doubleheader against The College at Brockport, winning the first game 6-4 and the second game 4-3.
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 6, Brockport 4
 
Ithaca scored all six of its runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a commanding 6-0 lead. Brockport cut the lead to 6-2 with two runs scored in the third inning and tacked on one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings to make the score 6-4.
 
Sophomore Maria Kramer led the Bombers with two hits as she went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Freshman Vicky Rizzolo went 1-for-3 with one RBI and junior Carol Buckheit went 1-for-4 with one run scored.
 
Junior Kathy Volpi recorded six strikeouts in the win.
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 4, Brockport 3
 
The Bombers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. The Golden Eagles cut the lead to 3-1 with one run scored in the top of the third inning. Brockport tied the contest with one run scored in the fourth and fifth innings, but the Bombers retook the lead with one final run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
 
Kramer went 2-for-3 with two RBI and junior Darlene Unger had one RBI and one run scored. Junior Mildred Piscopo and sophomore Wendy Jo Haft both went 1-for-2 with one run scored.
 
Freshman Julie Wilcox pitched a three-hitter and struck out three batters in the win.
