Ithaca vs Scranton, 1987

The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against the University of Scranton, winning the first game 3-2, but losing the second game 5-2.
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 3, Scranton 2
 
Scranton took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Bombers tied the contest in the top of the second inning. Ithaca added two runs in the top of the fifth inning to take the 3-1 lead and the Lady Royals scored their last run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.
 
Senior Kathy Volpi recorded the lone RBI of the game as she went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Junior Marie Kramer went 2-for-4 with one run scored and senior Patti Sheedy went 1-for-3 with one run scored.
 
Volpi only allowed seven hits and recorded one strikeout in the win.
 
Game 2 | Scranton 5, Ithaca 2
 
The Lady Royals took a 3-0 lead in the second inning, but the Bombers responded with two runs of their own in the top of the third inning. Scranton's final two runs came in the bottom of the sixth inning.
 
Sophomore Diana Gorsch went 1-for-3 with two RBI and junior Gretchen Lynch had one hit as well as she went 1-for-3.
 
Sophomore Julie Wilcox recorded one strikeout and gave up nine hits in the loss.
