Ithaca vs Greensboro, 1987

The Ithaca College softball team swept its doubleheader against Greensboro College, winning the first game 10-0 and the second game 8-1.
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 10, Greensboro 0
 
The Bombers scored one run in both the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead. Ithaca added three runs in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 5-0 and then scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to extend the lead to 7-0. The Bombers finished the game with three runs scored in the top of the sixth inning.
 
Seniors Kathy Voldi and Mildred Piscopo both went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Senior Carol Buckheit went 2-for-3 with one RBI and senior Patti Sheedy went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
 
Volpi pitched a two-hitter and recorded five strikeouts in the win.
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 8, Greensboro 1
 
Ithaca scored one run in the top of the first inning to take an early lead and added two runs in the top of the third to make the score 3-1. Greensboro cut the lead with one run scored in the bottom of the third inning, but the Bombers scored an impressive five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take the commanding 8-1 lead.
 
Buckheit led the Bombers with four RBI as she went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Sheedy went 2-for-3 with two RBI and sophomore Vicky Rizzolo went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
 
Sophomore Julie Wilcox pitched a one-hitter and recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts.
 
The Bombers finished their spring break trip with an overall record of 7-1.
