The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against The College at Brockport, winning the first game 2-1 but losing the second game 2-1.

The game was scoreless until Brockport scored one run in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 1-0. The Bombers responded with two runs scored in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the 2-1 lead.

Both RBI came from senior Carol Buckheit as she went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Senior Mildred Piscopo went 1-for-3 and freshman Jenny Ott went 1-for-3 with one run scored.

Senior Kathy Volpi pitched a three-hitter and had one strikeout in the win.

Ithaca scored its lone run in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead, but the Golden Eagles took the lead with two runs scored in the top of the sixth inning.

Piscopo went 1-for-3 with one RBI and Buckheit went 2-for-3 with one run scored.

Sophomore Julie Wilcox only allowed six hits through six innings pitched.
