The Ithaca College softball team finished its regular season splitting the doubleheader against the University of Scranton, losing the first game 3-2, but winning the second contest by a score of 6-1.
Game 1 | Scranton 3, Ithaca 2
Both teams scored one run in the first inning to make the score 1-1. In the third inning, the Bombers took the lead with one run scored. Ithaca maintained that lead until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Lady Royals scored two runs to take the 3-2 lead.
Junior Amy Bannon went 1-for-2 with one RBI and freshman Kim Lamoureaux added one RBI as well. Junior Marie Higby had two runs scored in the contest.
Freshman Heather Ware gave up six hits and recorded three strikeouts in the loss.
Game 2 | Ithaca 6, Scranton 1
Ithaca jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the second inning and tallied three more runs in the fourth inning to take the 6-0 lead. Scranton's lone run came in the sixth inning.
Bannon hit a two-run home run as she finished the day going 1-for-4. Freshman Kelle Jo Rolfe went 1-for-3 with two RBI and Higby went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Ware only gave up three hits through seven innings pitched. She finishes the regular season with a 14-13 record.
The Bombers finish the regular season with a 15-14 record and have qualified for the NYSWCAA Playoffs.
