The Ithaca College softball team defeated Rhode Island College by a score of 10-3 for the team's first win of the season.
Rhode Island took the early 2-0 lead after the first inning, but the Bombers scored an impressive six runs in the third inning to take a commanding 6-2 lead. Rhode Island added one other run in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 6-3 and Ithaca tallied four runs in the fifth inning to make the score 10-3.
Junior Jodi Maddren had a team-leading three RBI and freshman Maura Keenan went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Sophomores Heather Afarian and Nancy Liskiewicz each had one hit with one RBI.
Freshman Kristin Letourneau pitched a two-hitter through four innings and recorded two strikeouts.
