The Ithaca College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against The College of New Jersey, losing the first game 8-1 and the second game 6-0.

TCNJ scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an early lead, but the Bombers cut the lead to 2-1 off a one-run double from freshman Marie Higby. TCNJ scored an impressive six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the commanding 8-1 lead.

Junior Diana Gorsch went 2-for-3 and freshman Marybeth Progno went 1-for-3 as well. Freshman Amy Bannon and senior Gretchen Lynch both finished the game going 1-for-3.

Junior Julie Wilcox gave up eight hits and had one strikeout.

The Lions struck first with two runs scored in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. TCNJ added two runs in the third and fourth innings to take the 6-0 lead.

Higby went 1-for-3 in the game and Lynch led the team with two hits as she went 2-for-3.

Sophomore Cindy Gorsch gave up nine hits through almost four innings pitched.
