The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against The College of New Jersey, winning the first game 3-2, but losing the second game by a score of 6-2.

With the game tied at 2-2, the Bombers scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning to secure the 3-2 win.

TCNJ scored one run in the third and fifth innings to make the score 2-0. In the top of the seventh inning, the Bombers tied the contest with two runs scored.

Senior Julie Wilcox went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Sophomore Amy Bannon went 1-for-3 with one run scored and freshman Heather Afarian went 1-for-4 with one run scored.

Wilcox picked up her fifth win of the season as she only allowed six hits and recorded two strikeouts in nine innings pitched.

Game 2 | TCNJ 6, Ithaca 2

TCNJ scored two runs in the first inning and four runs in the second inning to jump out to an early 6-0 lead. Ithaca scored its first run in the third inning and added one more run in the fifth inning but could not score enough to tie the game.

Sophomore Marybeth Progno went 1-for-2 with one RBI and junior Cindy Gorsch went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Freshman Kelly Schoen had one hit as well as she went 1-for-1.

Gorsch pitched her first game of the season as she had one strikeout and only allowed seven hits throughout the game.
