The Ithaca College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against SUNY Cortland, losing the first game 5-4 and the second game 9-0.

The Red Dragons scored two runs in the second inning to take an early lead and added one run in the third inning to make the score 3-0. The Bombers took the lead in the game with four runs in the bottom of the third inning, but Cortland retook the lead in the top of the fifth inning with two runs scored.

Sophomore Amy Bannon went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Sophomores Marie Higby and Jodi Maddren both went 1-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

Senior Julie Wilcox gave up nine hits in the loss. She is now 6-7 on the season.

The game was scoreless until the Red Dragons scored an impressive seven runs in the top of the third inning to take a 7-0 lead. Cortland added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Bannon went 1-for-2 in the game, and Higby and junior Debby Smith both went 1-for-3.

Junior Cindy Gorsch gave up 10 hits and had one strikeout in the loss. With both losses, the Bombers are now 7-11 on the season.
