The Ithaca College softball team lost against SUNY Cortland by a score of 6-5 at the Red Dragon Classic.
 
Cortland jumped out to a huge 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning and Ithaca scored its first run in the bottom of the first to make the score 6-1. The Bombers added three runs in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 6-4. Ithaca tried to tie the contest in the bottom of the seventh but could only score one run.
 
Sophomore Amy Bannon went 2-for-2 with one RBI and sophomore Marie Higby went 2-for-4 with one run scored. Freshman Heather Afarian and senior Diana Gorsch both went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
 
Senior Julie Wilcox only pitched one inning and gave up seven hits with two strikeouts to make her overall record 6-6. Junior Cindy Gorsch pitched the last six innings of the contest and had three strikeouts.
