The Ithaca College softball team defeated Buffalo State in both games of its doubleheader, winning the first game 6-0 and the second game 7-2.
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 6, Buffalo State 0
 
The Bombers struck first with two runs scored in the top of the first inning. Ithaca then added two runs in the top of the third and finished the game with two runs scored in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 6-0.
 
Junior Cindy Gorsch led the Bombers with four RBI as she finished the game going 3-for-3 with one double. Freshman Heather Afarian went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI and sophomore Marybeth Progno went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
 
Senior Julie Wilcox pitched a four-hitter and recorded five strikeouts in the win.
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 7, Buffalo State 2
 
The Bombers scored one run in the top of the first and third innings to take an early 2-0 lead. The Bengals tied the contest with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Ithaca scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to retake the lead. Ithaca finished the game by adding two runs in the top of the seventh inning.
 
Freshman Michelle Hutchins hit a three-run double as she finished the day going 1-for-4. Sophomore Jodi Maddren went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored and senior Diana Gorsch went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
 
Junior Cindy Gorsch pitched a two-hitter and had three strikeouts in the win.
