The Ithaca College softball team snapped its losing streak against The College at Brockport, losing the first game by a score of 2-0, but winning the second game 5-1.

The Golden Eagles scored one run in the bottom of the third inning to take an early 1-0 lead. Brockport added one final fun in the bottom of the fifth inning to secure the 2-0 win.

Sophomore Jodi Maddren led the Bombers with two hits as she went 2-for-2. Sophomore Amy Bannon and senior Diana Gorsch both went 1-for-3 in the game.

Senior Julie Wilcox gave up six hits and struck out two batters in the contest.

The game was scoreless until the Bombers scored three runs in the top of the third inning to take an early lead. Brockport cut the lead to 3-1 with one run scored in the bottom of the sixth inning, but Ithaca capped the game off with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Bannon led the team with three RBI as she finished the day going 2-for-3 with one double. Gorsch went 1-for-4 with two RBI and freshman Heather Afarian went 1-for-3 with one run scored.

Junior Cindy Gorsch pitched a two-hitter and recorded three strikeouts in the win.
