The Ithaca College softball team defeated the University of Scranton in both games of the doubleheader, winning the first game 1-0 in five innings before winning the second game 11-1 in five innings.

The game was scoreless until the eighth inning when freshman Chris Pettograsso hit an RBI single to win the game for the Bombers.

Pettograsso finished the day going 1-for-3 with one RBI and senior Heather Afarian went 1-for-1. Juniors Missy Foley and Kristin Letourneau both went 1-for-3 in the game.

Senior Stacy Johnson pitched a two-hitter and struck out six batters in the win.

Scranton took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but Ithaca took the 2-1 lead with two runs in the second inning. The Bombers added five runs in the third inning and four runs in the fourth inning to secure the 11-1 win in five innings.

Pettograsso went 1-for-3 with two RBI and junior Kim Lamoureaux went 2-for-2 with one RBI and two runs scored. Letourneau went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored and senior Stacy Swiger went 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Johnson picked up the win by only allowing four hits and recording five strikeouts. With both wins, Johnson is 11-3 on the season.
