The Ithaca College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against SUNY Cortland, losing the first game 2-0 and the second game 5-4 in extra innings.

The Red Dragons scored one run in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead and then added another run in the second inning to make the score 2-0.

Junior Kim Lamoureaux and Karen Fischer both went 2-for-3 in the game and junior Maura Keenan had a hit as she went 1-for-3. Juniors Kristin Letourneau and Nancy Liskiewicz both went 1-for-3 as well.

Senior Stacy Johnson only allowed six hits throughout the game.

Game 2 | Cortland 5, Ithaca 4

Tied at 4-4, Cortland rallied and scored its last run in the bottom of the ninth inning to take the 5-4 lead.

The Red Dragons got on the board first as they scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Ithaca tied the contest in the top of the fifth with two runs scored and then both teams scored two runs in the seventh inning to make the score 4-4.

Lamoureaux went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Letourneau and junior Missy Foley had two hits apiece and senior Heather Afarian went 1-for-3 with one run scored.

Johnson picked up her second loss of the day as she recorded six strikeouts through 8.7 innings pitched. With both losses, the Bombers are now 16-8 on the season.
