The Ithaca College softball team defeated Alvernia University by a score of 11-4 to conclude the spring break trip with an overall record of 9-1.

Alvernia jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but the Bombers took the lead in the third inning with three runs scored. Ithaca scored five runs in the fourth inning to take an 8-1 lead and Alvernia cut the lead with two runs scored in the bottom of the fourth inning.

With the score 8-4, the Bombers tacked on three runs in the sixth inning to take an 11-3 lead. Alvernia added one final run in the sixth inning to make the final score 11-4.

Junior Kim Lamoureaux went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored, and senior Heather Afarian went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run scored. Senior Nancy Liskiewicz and Karen Fischer both went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Freshman Susan Reid picked up the third win of the season as she gave up five hits and recorded three strikeouts through four innings pitched.
