The Ithaca College softball team defeated Western Connecticut State by a score of 2-0 in the first game of the NCAA Northeast Regional.
 
Both runs for the Bombers came in the bottom of the third inning when sophomore Laura Remia hit a two-run double to give the Bombers a 2-0 lead. WCSU never scored any runs throughout the game.
 
Remia finished the day going 1-for-3 and junior Vanessa Montorsi went 1-for-3 with one run scored. Senior Julie McGraw went 2-for-2 and senior Sharon Orchard had one hit as well.
 
Junior Robin Bimson had six strikeouts in her 21st win of the season.
