The Ithaca College softball team swept both of its games against Rochester Institute of Technology, winning the first game by a score of 9-1 and the second game 8-5.

Ithaca scored two quick runs in the first inning to take an early lead. Both teams scored one run in the fourth inning and the Bombers added four runs in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 7-1. Ithaca's final two runs were scored in the top of the seventh inning.

Sophomore Laura Remia went 2-for-3 with four RBI and four runs scored. Senior Julie McGraw finished the game with two RBI as she went 2-for-3 and junior Janine Lawler added two hits as she went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Junior Robin Bimson only allowed six hits and recorded three strikeouts through seven innings pitched for her 14th win of the season.

The Tigers scored one run in each of the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead, but the Bombers tied the contest in the top of the third inning with two runs of their own. Ithaca took the lead in the fourth inning with three runs scored, but the Tigers tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Bombers scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to secure the 8-5 win.

Lawler went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored and junior Kristin Furdon added two RBI as well as she went 2-for-3. Junior Vanessa Montorsi went 2-for-3 with one RBI and three runs scored.

Bimson picked up her 15th win of the season as she pitched a one-hitter through 2.1 innings pitched. Junior Christie Davis pitched the first 4.2 innings of the contest and only allowed eight hits.
