The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Eastern Connecticut State, winning the first game 4-2, but losing the second game by a score of 3-0.

Ithaca jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning and added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. ECSU tried to spark a seventh inning comeback but could only score two runs.

Junior Janine Lawler went 1-for-3 with two RBI and senior Julie McGraw had one RBI as she finished the game going 1-for-3. Sophomore Nicole Fava went 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Junior Robin Bimson only allowed three hits and struck out four batters in the win.

ECSU scored one run in the third inning and then added one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings to take the 3-0 lead that would ultimately win them the game.

Junior Erin Cheney and freshman Kristin Furdon both went 1-for-2 and senior Cheryl Wah had one hit as well. Junior Kristin Muenzen finished the day going 1-for-1.

Junior Christie Davis is now 6-4 on the season as she allowed five hits through four innings pitched.
