Ithaca vs Cornell, 1999

The Ithaca College softball team lost both of its games against Division I Cornell University, losing the first game 3-2 and the second game 8-5.
 
Game 1 | Cornell 3, Ithaca 2
 
The game was scoreless until the sophomore Laura Remia hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Bombers a 2-0 lead. Cornell scored one run in the top of the sixth inning and then took the lead with two runs in the top of the seventh.
 
Remia finished the day going 1-for-3 with two RBI. Sophomore Lindy West had two hits as she went 2-for-3 and junior Vanessa Montorsi went 3-for-4 with one run scored.
 
Junior Robin Bimson only allowed five hits and had two strikeouts in the loss.
 
Game 2 | Cornell 8, Ithaca 5
 
Cornell scored four quick runs in the first inning to take the lead, but the Bombers scored one run in the second inning and three runs in the third inning to tie the game. Cornell retook the lead in the top of the fourth inning, and even though the Bombers added one run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead, the Big Red tacked on two additional runs in the sixth inning to secure the 8-5 win.
 
Senior Julie McGraw went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Remia added an RBI as she went 2-for-4. Freshman Kristin Furdon finished the game with two RBI as she went 2-for-3 with one run scored.
 
Junior Christie Davis had one strikeout and gave up 11 hits in the loss. With both losses, the Bombers are now 25-10 on the season.
