The Ithaca College softball team opened the NCAA Division III World Series with a 5-0 loss against Chapman University.
 
The game was scoreless until Chapman scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take an early lead. Chapman added three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the 5-0 win.
 
Junior Kristin Muenzen led the Bombers with two hits as she finished the day going 2-for-3. Sophomore Lindy West finished the game going 1-for-2.
 
Junior Robin Bimson gave up eight hits in the loss.
