The Ithaca College softball team swept its doubleheader against Buffalo State, winning the first game by a score of 8-2 and the second game 9-1.

The Bengals jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Bombers responded with four runs in the top of the second inning to take a 4-1 lead. Buffalo State scored its final run in the bottom of the third inning to cut the lead to 4-2.

Ithaca added two runs in the fifth inning and tacked on one run in each of the sixth and seventh innings to secure the 8-2 win.

Seniors Cheryl Wah and Julie McGraw, as well as sophomore Laura Remia, each hit a home run. Wah and McGraw both went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Remia went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Sophomore Lindy West finished the day going 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Junior Robin Bimson earned her 12th win of the season as she only gave up eight hits throughout the game.

Game 2 | Ithaca 9, Buffalo State 1

The Bombers started the game by scoring six runs in the first inning to take an early lead. Buffalo State's lone run came in the bottom of the first inning.

Ithaca scored one run in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth inning to secure the 9-1 win.

Junior Kristin Furdon had a team-leading three RBI as she went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, including her second home run of the season. McGraw went 1-for-2 with two RBI and Wah also went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Bimson recorded two strikeouts in her second win of the day, which now improves her record to 13-4.
