The Ithaca College softball team defeated SUNY Oneonta by a score of 9-4 to advance to the regional championship game.
Both teams scored two runs in the first inning to tie the contest at 2-2 as senior Laura Remia hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the inning. Oneonta tacked one run in the second and third innings to take a 4-2 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, junior Kim Sebastiao hit an RBI single to left field to score sophomore Alison Cole and sophomore Lori Fazio scored on a throwing error. Sebastiao then scored on a throwing error to take a 5-4 lead.
The Bombers capped off the game with four runs scored in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 9-4.
Remia led the team with three RBI as she finished the game going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run scored. Sebastiao and junior Mairin Dudek both went 1-for-4 with one RBI and Fazio had one RBI as well.
Sophomore Abby Hanrahan recorded nine strikeouts and allowed seven hits through seven innings pitched.
