Ithaca vs La Verne, 2001

The No. 10 Ithaca College softball team fell to the University of La Verne in eight innings by a score of 6-5.
 
After scoring three runs in the seventh inning to tie the contest at 5-5, La Verne scored the winning run in the eighth inning.
 
Both teams scored one run in the first inning to make the score 1-1. The Bombers added three runs in the bottom of the third inning to make the lead 4-1, and scored another run in the fourth inning to extend the lead. La Verne scored one run in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 5-2.
 
Junior Kristin Furdon went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run scored as she hit her first home run of the season. Senior Laura Remia went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. Freshman Sara Durant added the other RBI for the Bombers.
 
Sophomore Abby Hanrahan is now 2-1 on the season as she struck out five batters and allowed five hits through 3.2 innings pitched.
