The Ithaca College softball team fell to SUNY Cortland in both games of the doubleheader, losing the first game 4-0 and the second game 6-2.
Game 1 | Cortland 4, Ithaca 0
The Red Dragons scored two runs in the second inning to take an early 2-0 lead. Cortland added one run in the fourth inning and the seventh inning to secure the 4-0 win.
Junior Nancy Liskiewicz and sophomore Missy Foley both went 1-for-2 in the first game while junior Heather Afarian went 1-for-4.
Junior Stacy Johnson allowed eight hits and recorded three strikeouts in the loss.
Game 2 | Cortland 6, Ithaca 2
The Red Dragons scored two runs in the first inning and added two runs in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. Ithaca scored one run in the second inning to cut the lead, but the Red Dragons responded with two more runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead. Ithaca's final run came in the seventh inning.
Junior Stacy Swiger went 1-for-3 with one RBI and sophomore Kim Lamoureaux went 2-for-3 with one run scored. Junior Sarah Caryl had the team's other RBI.
Swiger gave up six hits throughout five innings pitched and had two strikeouts.
