The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Eastern Connecticut State University, losing the first game by a score of 3-1, but winning the second game 8-7.
Game 1 | ECSU 3, Ithaca 1
ECSU scored one run in the first inning to take an early lead. Both teams scored one run in the fifth inning to make the score 2-1, but ECSU added one run in the seventh inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Sophomore Missy Foley went 1-for-3 in the game, and junior Nancy Liskieweicz and sophomore Kelle Jo Rolfe both went 1-for-4.
Junior Stacy Johnson gave up five hits through seven innings pitched and recorded six strikeouts.
Game 2 | Ithaca 8, ECSU 7
The Warriors scored an impressive five runs in the first inning to take an early lead and the Bombers responded with three runs of their own in the third inning. ESCU added one run in the third inning to make the score 6-3.
The Bombers added one run in the fourth inning and ECSU responded with one run of its own to take a 7-4 lead. Ithaca tied the contest in the top of the fifth inning with three runs scored and took the 8-7 lead in the sixth inning.
Sophomore Kim Lamoureaux went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Liskiewicz went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Sophomore Maura Keenan added an RBI as well as she went 1-for-2 in the game.
Junior Stacy Swiger picked up her seventh win of the season as she only allowed one hit through four innings pitched.
