The Ithaca College softball team fell to Buffalo State in both games of its doubleheader, losing the first game 2-1 and the second game by a score of 6-1.
Game 1 | Buffalo State 2, Ithaca 1
Buffalo State scored one run early in the first inning to take the lead, but the Bombers tied the contest in the third inning with one run of their own. The Bengals scored the winning run in the sixth inning.
Senior Jodi Maddren went 1-for-3 with one run scored and junior Stacy Swiger went 1-for-2. Sophomores Maura Keenan and Kim Lamoureaux each added one hit as well.
Junior Stacy Johnson only allowed five hits and recorded two strikeouts.
Game 2 | Buffalo State 6, Ithaca 1
The Bengals scored one run in the first inning and added two runs in the second inning to take an early 3-0 lead. Buffalo State's final three runs came in the third inning to take a 6-0 lead. Ithaca's lone run of the contest was scored in the fifth inning.
Sophomore Kelle Jo Rolfe went 1-for-3 with one run scored and junior Heather Afarian went 1-for-2. Senior Marybeth Progno and junior Nancy Liskiewicz each had one hit as well, as both of them went 1-for-3.
Swiger allowed nine hits throughout the game. She is now 7-7 on the season.
