Ithaca vs RPI, 2002

The No. 12 Ithaca College softball team swept Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in its doubleheader, winning game one 8-0 and the second game 18-0. Both games were won in five innings. 
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 8, RPI 0
 
The Bombers scored in the bottom of the first inning. After adding two runs in the third, Ithaca had a massive five-run fourth inning. 
 
Sophomore Kerri Barber hit her second home run of the season with a three-run home run in the fifth inning. She finished the day going 1-for-2 with three RBI. Freshman Lauren Esmailka made her first appearance of the season a big one as she went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. 
 
Junior Abby Hanrahan pitched a one-hitter and struck out five in her fourth shutout of the season. 
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 18, RPI 0
 
The Bombers exploded for 14 runs in the first two innings. In the bottom of the fourth, Ithaca added four more runs to not have the game go past five innings. 
 
Senior Kim Sebastiao hit her first home run of the season. She finished the second game going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Junior Liz Yentema went 1-for-2 with two RBI and junior Alison Cole went 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. 
 
Hanrahan picked up her ninth win of the season in the contest. She only allowed two hits and struck out two.
