The Ithaca College softball team lost its first game of the Division III World Series against Lake Forest College, losing the game 4-2.
Lake Forest went up 4-0 after the top of the fourth inning. The Bombers scored one run in the fourth and fifth innings to cut the lead to 4-2 but could not score enough to win the game.
Junior Kim Stephens went 1-for-3 with one RBI and junior Liz Yentema went 3-for-4 in the game.
Junior Abby Hanrahan had her first loss since her matchup against Cornell University on April 30. She pitched four innings and gave up eight hits while striking out two batters.
Ithaca will play Lake Forest again in hopes of winning the team's first ever national championship in softball.
