The Ithaca College softball team won its first ever national championship, defeating Lake Forest in the finals with a score of 1-0.
Senior Mairin Dudek had the lone RBI of the game for the Bombers in the bottom of the second inning. She finished the game going 1-for-2.
Junior Abby Hanrahan picked up the win for the Bombers while freshman Abbey Pelot earned her first save of the season. Hanrahan pitched 5.1 innings and only allowed three hits while striking out six. She finishes the season with an overall record of 22-8.
Hanrahan, senior Kristin Furdon and sophomore Kerri Barber were named to the all-tournament team.
