The Ithaca College softball defeated SUNY Geneseo 1-0 in Game 5 of the NCAA Division III Softball Northeast Regional.
The game was tied 0-0 headed into the bottom of the seventh inning. With two runners on, sophomore Kerri Barber hit a grounder to the second baseman, who then missed the tag on the runner going to second. The missed tag led freshman Sara Coddington to score the game-winning run.
Ithaca only had two hits during the game, with one of them being Barber's. The other hit came from Coddington.
Junior Abby Hanrahan pitched a shutout, only allowing two hits and striking out 13 batters.
With the win, Ithaca advances to the Division III World Series.
