The Ithaca College softball team defeated Elmira College 5-0 in the opening round of the Empire 8 tournament. 
 
The Bombers scored two runs in the bottom of the first and added one more run in the bottom of the second. Ithaca tallied two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. 
 
Senior Kristin Furdon hit her team-leading ninth home run. She finished the game going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Junior Liz Yentema went 3-for-4 with one RBI. \
 
Freshman Abbey Pelot pitched all seven innings and only allowed three hits and struck out five. 
 
The Bombers will face the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Empire 8 semi-finals.
