Ithaca vs Buffalo State, 2002

The Ithaca College softball team swept its doubleheader against Buffalo State, winning the first game 4-3 and the second game 5-1. 
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 4, Buffalo State 3
 
The Bombers hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to clinch the 4-3 victory. 
 
Ithaca scored twice in the bottom of the first, but Buffalo State scored once in the second and third innings to tie the game. Ithaca took the lead once again in the bottom of the sixth, but Buffalo State tied it in the top of the seventh. 
 
Senior Kristin Furdon hit her seventh home run of the season in the first inning. She finished the day going 1-for-3 with two RBI. She has hit a home run in three of the last four games. Junior Liz Yentema went 2-for-3 with one RBI. 
 
Junior Abby Hanrahan only gave up seven hits and struck out four. She is now 14-6 on the season. 
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 5, Buffalo State 1
 
Ithaca scored first in the bottom of the first inning, but Buffalo State tied it in the top of the third. After the Bombers took the lead in the bottom of the third, they scored again in the fourth inning. They finished the game scoring two runs in the sixth inning. 
 
Freshman Abbey Pelot is now 13-4 on the season after she allowed five hits and struck out four. Hanrahan set a new school record with four saves in one season. 
 
Yentema went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two doubles. Seniors Mairin Dudek and Kristin Furdon each added one RBI.
