Ithaca vs Alfred, 2002

The Ithaca College softball team swept Alfred University in its conference doubleheader, winning game one 11-1 and game two 11-0. Both games were won in five innings. 
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 11, Alfred 1
 
The Bombers scored five runs in the first inning to take an early lead. Ithaca added one run in the third and two runs in the fourth before an impressive three-run fifth inning. Alfred's only run came in the bottom of the fifth. 
 
Three Bombers hit home runs during the first game. Sophomore Kerri Barber went 2-for-2 with two RBI and one home run. Senior Kim Sebastiao went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and junior Alison Cole hit her first home run of the season as she went 3-for-3 with three RBI and a stolen base. 
 
Junior Abby Hanrahan only gave up three hits and struck out three. She is now 12-6 on the season. 
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 11, Alfred 0
 
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third when Ithaca scored its first run. In the bottom of the fourth, the Bombers scored 10 runs, their most runs scored in a single season this inning, to not play a sixth inning. 
 
Senior Kristin Furdon hit her team-leading fifth home run of the season as she finished the game going 1-for-3 with two RBI. Freshman Maddie Kraemer hit her first collegiate home run as she went 1-for-1 with two RBI. 
 
Freshman Abbey Pelot picked up her 11th win of the season as she only allowed four hits and struck out three batters.
