The Ithaca College softball team fell to SUNY Cortland in both games of the doubleheader, losing the first game by a score of 4-3 in extra innings, and the second game 7-4.
Game 1 | Cortland 4, Ithaca 3
The game was scoreless until both teams scored two runs in the fourth inning. The Red Dragons scored one run in the sixth inning to take a 3-2 lead, but Ithaca tied the contest at 3-3 with one run in the seventh inning.
Senior Kim Lamoureaux went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one double, and senior Maura Keenan went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Junior Chris Pettograsso had two hits in the game as well.
Senior Heather Ware recorded four strikeouts and allowed nine hits.
Game 2 | Cortland 7, Ithaca 4
Ithaca scored two runs in each of the first and second innings to take a 4-0 lead. The Red Dragons scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the lead to 4-3, and Cortland took the lead with two runs in the sixth inning. The Red Dragons scored their final two runs in the seventh inning.
Freshman Jeanine Bleau went 3-for-4 with one RBI and run scored. Lamoureaux and senior Jo Levia both went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Ware allowed 12 hits in the second game. She is now 10-8 on the season.
