Ithaca vs Utica, 2003

The Bombers returned to conference play with a sweep of its doubleheader against Utica College, winning the first game 13-3 and the second game 9-7. 
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 13, Utica 3
 
It only took six innings for the Ithaca College softball team to defeat Utica in the first game. Ithaca quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the second inning and scored five more runs in the top of the fifth. Utica scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, but Ithaca had more runners cross the plate in the top of the sixth as the team added four more runs.
 
The game was highlighted by freshman Kaitlyn Dulac's first career home run. She finished the day going 1-for-2 with three RBI. Junior Sara Durant went 1-for-3 with two RBI in the contest. 
 
Senior Abby Hanrahan had five strikeouts on the day as she picked up her sixth win of the season. 
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 9, Utica 7
 
Utica scored in the top of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead. Ithaca tied it in the bottom of the second inning. In the third innings, both teams scored four runs, and the game was tied 5-5 headed into the fourth inning. 
 
After Utica took the lead in the top of the fourth, the Bombers responded with two runs to take the lead for the first time in the game. Ithaca scored one more run in the bottom of the fifth and both teams scored their final runs in the sixth inning. Utica was unable to put a run on the board in the top of the seventh to extend the game. 
 
Hanrahan picked up another win on the day, as she is now 7-3 on the season. Durant, along with junior Meg Hannon, each had two RBI in the contest. Senior Liz Yentema went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
