The Ithaca College softball team ended its season with a 7-3 loss to Union in an elimination game in the NCAA Northeast Region Playoffs.
Union took an early 2-0 lead in the game and held that lead until the Bombers scored their first run in the top of the fourth inning. In the top of the sixth, Ithaca scored two more runs to take a 3-2 lead. However, in the bottom of the sixth, Union scored five runs and Ithaca could not put any runs on the board in the top of the seventh.
Freshman Leigh Bonkowski hit her team-leading eighth homerun of the season. She finished the day going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base. Freshman Kaitlyn Dulac had the other RBI in the game as she finished the day going 2-for-3 with one double.
Senior Abby Hanrahan finished the season with an incredible 18-7 record. She pitched six innings, giving up eight hits and striking out three.
