The No. 1 Ithaca College softball team opened conference play with a sweep of Elmira College, winning the first game 5-4 and winning the second game 8-0 in six innings.

The Bombers were down 4-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh. With two outs, the Bombers scored three runs to secure the comeback victory. Senior Liz Yentema drove in the winning run.
Ithaca scored first in the bottom of the second, but Elmira took a 2-1 lead after the top of the first inning. After the Soaring Eagles scored two more runs in the top of the fifth, the Bombers responded with one more run in the fifth to make the game 4-2 before heading into the seventh innings.
Juniors Kerri Barber and Sara Durant each had one RBI in the contest while Yentema finished the day going 2-for-2 with the game-winning single.
Senior Abby Hanrahan earned her third win of the season as she pitched all seven innings and struck out six.
Game 2 | Ithaca 8, Elmira 0
Ithaca only had a 1-0 lead heading into the top of the fifth. During that inning, the Bombers scored four runs, and then added three more in the top of the sixth.
Barber had a huge game for the Bombers at the plate as she went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Freshman Leigh Bonkowski went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
Sophomore Abbey Pelot is now 5-1 on the season. She pitched all six innings while only allowing three hits and striking out one.
