The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against the Rochester Institute of Technology, winning the first game 4-1 but losing the second game 7-3.
Game 1 | Ithaca 4, RIT 1
RIT scored one run in the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead, but the Bombers responded with four runs of their own in the fifth inning to secure the 4-1 win.
Sophomore Marie Kelly hit a three-run triple in the fifth inning as she finished the day going 1-for-3. Freshman Angela Ellis went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Freshman Nicki Swan recorded six strikeouts and only allowed six hits in the win. She is now 13-5 on the season.
Game 2 | RIT 7, Ithaca 3
The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning and Ithaca tied the contest in the third inning at 2-2. RIT added one run in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-2 lead. Both teams added one run in the seventh inning.
Sophomore Jeanine Bleau went 1-for-3 with one RBI and Kelly went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Freshman Ellen Mullin went 2-for-3 with one run scored.
Junior Susan Reid gave up eight hits in the loss. She is now 8-5 on the season.
