The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against the University of Scranton, winning the first game 14-6, but losing the second contest by a score of 7-4.

The Bombers scored five runs in the first inning, but the Royals responded with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Both teams scored two runs in the second inning and Ithaca added two runs in the fourth inning to take a 9-6 lead.
Ithaca finished the first game by scoring five runs in the fifth inning to finish the game in five innings.
Freshman Kathy Nadler went 2-for-4 with four RBI and sophomore Marie Kelly went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Junior Jennifer Hoselton and freshman Amy McMordie both went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Sophomore Nicki Swan struck out four batters and allowed six hits in the win.
Game 2 | Scranton 7, Ithaca 4
Ithaca jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Royals took the lead in the bottom half of the first inning by scoring three runs. Both teams scored two runs in the third inning and Scranton added two more runs in the fifth inning to secure the win.
McMordie went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Senior Chris Pettograsso and Kelly each had one hit and one RBI as well.
Sophomore Tracy Welliver picked up her first loss of the season as she pitched two innings and only allowed two hits.
